SMS - Peanut Brittle

Our host for Sweet Melissa Sundays recipe is JoVonn of The Givens Chronicles and she chose Peanut Brittle. I love making candy. It just amazes me how a few ingredients transform into something completely, just by applying heat (ok, I admit it, I'm a geek). Although I'm allergic to peanuts, I decided to make this week's brittle recipe and take it to work to share. My husband also enjoys it.

A couple weeks ago, we made Roasted Cashew Brittle for SMS, or in my case, Almond Brittle. Given the issues some had run into with the SMS recipe at that time, I decided to use my standby brittle recipe, and I did the same thing this week as well. You can find my recipe HERE.

Spicy Peanut Brittle with cinnamon and a dash of cayenne

A big thanks to JoVonn for hosting this week. Don't forget to check out her brittle post where she'll also have the recipe for you from the The Sweet Melissa Baking Book. Be sure to check out others who embarked on this candy making adventure right HERE.

  6. Cinnamon and cayenne - yum! I love brittle with an extra kick of spice. I'll definitely be checking out your recipe, as I wasn't a fan of the SMS version.

  9. I like your twist of adding spices! I skipped this one (duh, I'm skipping everything it seems) but might make your version instead when things calm down.
