ABC - Veggie Danish

This Veggie Danish recipe from WeekendBakery.com instantly captured my attention. It's like a savory cinnamon roll, and you can use whatever filling strikes your fancy. In my case, I used homemade (nut-free) basil pesto, green olives and an Italian cheese blend. I served it with a bowl of homemade vegetable soup. Everyone loved it! The only downside was that this dough almost killed my bread machine (more on that later).

As for the shape, I decided not to mess with cutting the dough into rolls and made a faux-braid instead. Who said braided breads can be sweet only?

Soft and fluffy bread hugging an aromatic pesto/olive/cheese filling. Yum!

ABC - Mushroom Cheddar Tarts

"Could we bake something savory for ABC?" Sunita asked. Yes, we can Sunita! :o) I browsed through the seemingly endless list of recipes on the King Arthur Flour website, looking for savory recipes. And that's how this month's Mushroom Cheddar Tarts came about.

Yummy savory and cheesy tartlettes :o)

A virtual Thanksgiving

A bunch of us were invited to a virtual Thanksgiving Dinner Party by Phyl. The idea behind this plan is for everyone to make a dish. The virtual Thanksgiving dinner would comprise of all the dishes put together. Neat idea, huh? Phyl will be doing a round-up soon and post a link to everyone's recipe(s). Thanks Phyl!

Who says "healthy" can't be delicious?

My contributions to the Thanksgiving table are: Mediterranean-style Oven-Roasted Vegetables and a Moist and Spicy Layered Pumpkin Cake with Molasses Cream Cheese Frosting. I hope you give these recipes a try. They're always a big hit at our house.

Bon appetit!
