ABC - Cranberry Orange Scones

Cranberry Orange Scone with Orange Glaze

This month's ABC project is: scones! As you know, we're baking from The Weekend Baker. The author, Abby Dodge, gave us several flavor options: plain, chocolate chips, dried fruit, etc. I love dried cranberries and when paired with orange zest, any baked good turns into a delicacy, in my opinion. These Cranberry Orange Scones sure fell into that category. They were a big hit!

Pecan Tassies

Jenn (Knitty Baker) and I set out to (informally) bake a few recipes from Rose's Christmas Cookies. At the time, I selected our first recipe: Rose's Crescents, which I blogged about a couple of months ago. For the second bake together, Jenn selected the Pecan Tassies for us to bake. I substituted almonds for pecans since I can't eat pecans and left everything else the same. If you have access to Lyle's Golden Syrup, please please please use it. Although the recipe says you can substitute dark corn syrup, the flavor just doesn't even come close.

ABC - Buttery Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls

Doesn't that look soft and fluffy? :o)

Sixteen yummy rolls!

This month's ABC recipe was a wonderful yeast recipe: Buttery Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls from The Weekend Baker by Abby Dodge. The recipe has a "plain" version (which is what I made), a poppy seed version, a black pepper/cheese version, and an herb version. All of the varieties are worth trying out sometime.
