HCB - Miette's Tomboy

In case you haven't heard, Marie has finished baking her way through Rose's Heavenly Cakes. Although I've been baking along with the Heavenly Cake Bakers since its inception, I wasn't able to bake along every single week. Lucky for me (and other HCB-ers in the same situation), Jenn of Knitty Baker, has volunteered to continue the weekly bake along to finish the "remaining" cakes.

For this week, Jenn chose the Barcelona Brownie Bars. Since I already made these yummy and super-chocolatey brownies back in February, I decided to blog about a cake I made a couple weeks ago while visiting my mom: Miette's Tomboy. She didn't have a 6" pan, so I used an 8" square pan.

Whipped cream is perfect for this super rich, fudgy and chocolatey cake

ABC - Overnight Cinnamon Buns

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything. I'm writing today's post from a sunny but very windy part of Holland. Yep, I'm across the pond, enjoying a nice vacation, visiting relatives :o)

This month's recipe for the Avid Baker's Challenge are the Overnight Cinnamon Buns. I had the pleasure of baking these rolls with my friend and talented baker & blogger, Karen of Bake My Day. We baked these buns together (without the "overnight" step) and she also brought a starter for a Garlic Bread she had blogged about recently. You can find her post (+ recipe) on the Garlic Bread here (be prepared to drool if you like caramelized garlic - I know I did) :o)
